Important Member Update

Due to a serious and ongoing issue with our suppliers, FilmPass has remained paused since 23rd December 2024. Until a stable and fair resolution is secured, it is not possible or responsible for us to continue providing cinema tickets to our members. There is currently no access to the FilmPass Club.

Over the past six months, we have made repeated efforts to raise concerns collaboratively, particularly around data transparency and behavioural tracking practices within the supply chain. Unfortunately, these efforts have been met with avoidance and silence instead of accountability.

The steps we have taken include:

  • Submitting formal Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) to all relevant parties in December 2024

  • Filing regulatory complaints with both the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority)

  • Observing a major cinema chain ignore our DSAR, then subsequently change its privacy policy, legal entity, and ICO registration

  • Engaging with agencies — one of which declined to cooperate, while another retained a crisis PR and regulatory fallout law firm

We are now awaiting official determinations from the ICO and CMA, and are continuing to support their investigations with full transparency.

We understand this is frustrating, and while we are working hard to resolve the issue, we recognise that some members may not wish to wait. If you choose to raise a dispute with your card provider, we will acknowledge the situation and will not prevent it, as we appreciate that this may be the best option for some members.

All affected members will have their benefits preserved, and we will provide further updates as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We remain committed to resolving this matter and returning with the standard of service our members expect and deserve.
